Oaklands Manor School is situated in the town of Buxton. The rural location provides a nurturing and safe environment for pupils. The school offers a spacious learning environment where classrooms are inviting and well equipped with modern furniture and resources. Pupils are encouraged to take an active role in displays, helping to foster pride in their learning environment and academic achievement.
Class sizes are small and structured to support the implementation of individual education and behaviour plans. These plans ensure each pupil works through an adapted curriculum appropriate to their ability and key stage. Oaklands Manor works in partnership with the residential team to provide a 24-hour wraparound service to all young people.
Oaklands Manor School offers pupils the opportunity to achieve nationally recognised accreditation in the form of Entry Level, Functional Skills, and GCSE qualifications. Pupils have access to three distinct pathways and, within each pathway, receive equal access to resources, therapies, support, and enrichment opportunities. Children can move freely between pathways when appropriate and are therefore never limited by their initial route.
The school has a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere combined with high professional standards. Our committed and professional staff team understands that children learn best when in an environment that is responsive to their needs. The curriculum is complemented by the residential care team, who provide additional pastoral support.

This policy is written in accordance with the SEND Code of Practice (2014, updated 2015 and 2020), the Children and Families Act 2014, and relevant statutory guidance, ensuring compliance with the OFSTED inspection framework.

This policy sets and maintains the standards of conduct expected of all staff across Keys Group Schools. Our aim is to ensure a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment where pupils, many of whom have experienced trauma or challenging circumstances, can thrive.

We recognise that many pupils arrive with unmet basic needs and a history of instability. Our schools provide stability, care, and a sense of belonging, enabling pupils to develop self-confidence, resilience, and a positive sense of identity within a supportive community

This policy sets out the framework for identifying, assessing, managing, and reviewing risks within our School to ensure the wellbeing of all stakeholders.
We welcome referrals and enquiries from parents and local authorities. To discuss how Keys Education can support your child, please contact us using the form below or reach out to our admissions team directly.
Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.
We ask the person wishing to commission the placement (normally the Local Authority) sends over relevant information, such as, EHCP, previous school reports, professionals reports.
This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if we are the right provision to meet needs.
Once we feel needs can be met, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process. If the Local Authority request the place, this is subject to funding being agreed at a panel meeting.
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
