LIFE-SAVING skills became part of the curriculum at North Bridge Enterprise College as it marked Restart a Heart Day.
Students at the school, which supports young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties, took part in a day of life-saving lessons including learning about CPR.
Using ‘dummies’ to learn about lifesaving skills, the pupils enjoyed a practical session which also saw them achieve a qualification at the end of the day.
Vicki Clamp, the school’s Deputy Head Teacher, said: “As well as learning these vital skills, the students also gained an AQA qualification. These are vital skills and the session was really useful in demonstrating just how important they are to our young people, as well as giving them a chance to gain confidence and learn how to use them in an emergency situation.
“This is an annual event and one we always take part in. It forms an important part of the PHSE learning at the school and it’s always very much enjoyed – as well as being incredibly useful for students.”
