Keys Engage provides the earliest stabilising input, forming the foundation from which learners can progress seamlessly into Keys Tuition as their readiness for structured learning increases.

The Keys Engage programme is a trauma-informed, relational and developmentally aligned model of education. It e-engages learners who have become disconnected from formal schooling, recognising that emotional safety, trust and belonging must be established before meaningful learning can take place.
Grounded in developmental and educational theory, this stabalising, in-person and highly personalised programme helps young people rebuild the conditions necessary for engagement and academic progress. Drawing on the principles of attachment, social learning and psychosocial development, it provides a framework for rebuilding stability, confidence and motivation.
Structured around nine developmental domains, the programme supports learners through a clear progression from safety and regulation to independence and reintegration. Each stage combines therapeutic support, academic learning and AQA-accredited Unit Awards, ensuring measurable outcomes that reflect both understanding and application.

Keys Engage is for learners who, for complex reasons, are unable to sustain attendance or engagement in mainstream or specialist settings, including:
Emotionally Based School Avoidance (EBSA)
Extended absence from education
Multiple exclusions or placement breakdowns
Complex trauma or attachment difficulties
Significant safeguarding concerns
Neurodiversity such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH profile
Mental-health vulnerabilities or relational trauma
Social isolation or low confidence
Previous reintegration attempts that have not succeeded

We welcome referrals and enquiries from parents and local authorities. To discuss how Keys Education can support your child, please contact us using the form below or reach out to our admissions team directly.
Parents, carers, or local authorities can contact us to discuss the needs of the child.
We ask the person wishing to commission the placement (normally the Local Authority) sends over relevant information, such as, EHCP, previous school reports, professionals reports.
This allows us to conduct a thorough assessment to determine if we are the right provision to meet needs.
Once we feel needs can be met, we work closely with all parties to facilitate the placement process. If the Local Authority request the place, this is subject to funding being agreed at a panel meeting.
After admission, we provide continuous support to ensure the child settles in well and their needs are met.
If you would like to make a referral, please email or call our team. They will be happy to help. We look forward to partnering with you to provide the best possible education and support for your child.
